Founder Bio & Mission Statement

Calvin Thornton is the Founder & CEO of Calari Legal. He founded Calari Legal to solve a systemic crisis in the Texas civil and family court system: millions of Texans face life-altering legal proceedings—ranging from child custody (SAPCR) and divorce modifications to bank account garnishments and adult name changes—without the means to afford a $5,000+ private attorney retainer.

When everyday citizens are forced to represent themselves (pro se), they are frequently turned away at the courthouse clerk counter not because their legal claims lack merit, but because of complex procedural hurdles, unindexed evidence exhibits, miscalculated statutory guidelines, or missing county-specific standing orders.

Our Mission: Calari Legal's mission is to bridge the access-to-justice gap by providing Texas pro se litigants with affordable document automation, statutory calculators, and evidence management tools—empowering self-represented individuals to walk into any Texas district or county court with organized, compliant, e-file-ready legal packets.

Under Calvin Thornton's leadership, Calari Legal engineered a multi-chamber cloud platform calibrated to the Texas Family Code, Texas Property Code, Texas Rules of Civil Procedure (including TRCP Rule 145 court fee waivers), and local rules across major Texas judicial districts. In addition to serving individual pro se litigants directly at calarilegal.com, Calari Legal is a registered Texas Comptroller vendor (CMBL #558798) supporting county law libraries and public courthouse self-help terminals.

02 • STATUTORY CALCULATORS

Deterministic Texas Statutory Engines

Eliminates manual calculation errors with automated calculators for Texas Family Code Chapter 154 child support guidelines, Chapter 6 60-day statutory waiting periods, and Texas Property Code § 42.0021 wage/account exemption shields.

03 • EVIDENCE MANAGEMENT
